LATEST UPDATE

Welcome to Shekinah High School and Training Center.

While the Village schools have grown to over 500 children, many of the children were aging out and seeking the opportunity for further education; preparing for university and looking to their futures: providing for their people and families.

Two plots of land (total of approximately 7 acres) near the village area have been donated for the purpose of building a high school and training centre.

CLAP began raising funds towards this endeavor and by 2020 we broke ground.

In Spring of 2021, the High School Board was able to register “Shekinah High School and Training Center” with the Bangladesh Government recognizing it as a recognized educational institution.

The High School board and staff (5 teaching and 3 admin) - all members the of tribal people - are very excited for this opportunity and registered the first group of students to begin class in Fall of 2021. They look forward to providing opportunities for education for their students.

As of 2024, we have 4 classrooms including desks and benches, 2 student dormitories including bedding, teachers quarters, kitchen, electrical supply (in process), 2 water wells, 6 toilets, 2 bathing rooms, security fence, and a retaining wall.

Our future hope is to incorporate training in sustainable trades such as carpentry, sewing, agriculture and technology.

Exciting news!! In 2024, the Bangladesh Government officially registered the High School and as part of this recognition, have released funds to build a four story student dormitory and academic building. Once completed the remaining buildings will be used as administration offices, first-aid office and various training offices.
